Nikola Motor Company is seeking an highly skilled Project Manager to manage the Nikola Powersports Engineering Departments ongoing project portfolio. NMC project managers must keep the big picture in focus while being able to address the unique operational challenges we face daily. As a Project Manager in the NMC Powersports Engineering Dept., you will manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects, developing requirements and timelines, and help drive projects through to completion. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering and business operational processes, as well as the willingness to adapt to and excel in a dynamic business and engineering environment. You should be a problem solver who can work with a large number of stakeholders to drive cross-functional teams to a common goal. You should also feel comfortable with data processing and basic data management tools, to be able to quickly share updates on the progress of project milestone timelines.
Coordinates resources, provide clear direction and timelines for deliverables, and delegate tasks across the project team.
Manages multiple projects from start to finish, managing tasks, communication, and project stakeholders.
Effectively handle multiple priorities to meet all objectives and deadlines.
Collaborates in a cross-functional team environment to drive initiatives.
Interacts in a professional manner with senior executives.
Produces intricate gantt charts, spreadsheets, graphs and PowerPoint presentations for meetings and reports.
Maintain a high degree of professionalism, sound business judgment, and confidentiality
Foster an entrepreneurial mindset on the team and across the organization, to ensure the effectiveness and agility needed to create excellent results
Establish and continuously refine an operating framework for program and project management, enabling direct and repeatable impact, at scale
3+ years of engineering team lead or project management experience and/or 3+ years of professional experience in a corporate or start-up environment with technology background.
Bachelors of Science/Mechanical Engineering with evidence of exceptional ability, MBA degree is a plus but not required.
High level understanding of electric vehicle engineering design.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external partners and suppliers.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism.
Highly organized, with good time management skills.
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Experience in cross-functional project management, and proven ability to drive initiatives to conclusion.
Acute attention to detail.
Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and navigate through an ambiguous environment; enjoys challenges.
Ability to deliver results through influence without authority.
Experience building and leading teams of 10+ to manage multiple program and project tracks in parallel.
