OSHA Safety Specialist

OVERVIEW Work within our engineering team on Health, Safety & Environmental operations while specializing in OSHA compliance. 3+ years of experience in OSHA compliance work, preferable in the state of Arizona. A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or similar, is required. Preference will be given to candidates with safety certifications such CSP, ASP, CIH, etc. Experience working with hydrogen a plus. Automotive experience a plus.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure OSHA and ADOSH compliance requirements are implemented for facilities and operations. * Maintain site compliance with all applicable safety, health and environmental regulations issued by federal, state and local agencies as well as corporate policies. * Identify areas of non-conformance; recommend and implement corrective actions. * Lead workplace monitoring efforts to meet regulatory requirements, ACGIH and other guidelines. * Anticipate and implement any safety regulatory changes that impact the organization. * Develop and/or deliver training on safety and health topics including general industry training, site-specific hazard training, emergency response, etc. * Perform workplace inspections, audits, assessments and investigations. Participate in regulatory safety inspections. Assist with incident investigation and analysis. * Participate in risk assessments, HazOps, FMEAs, FTAs, etc. across various business functions. * Assist in implementation of corporate safety management systems. * Attend safety meetings. * Provide safety leadership. * Tabulate safety statistics and generate safety reports. * Record keeping and documentation.

DESIRABLE QUALITIES: * Current Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Risk Management (ARM) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), preferred. * Degree in Occupation Health and Safety, preferred. * Knowledge of industrial hygiene, preferred. * Minimum of 3+ years safety experience in operations or a manufacturing environment. * Ability to interpret OSHA standards and experience implementing regulatory requirements. * Training or teaching experience. * Good communication skills/Interpersonal skills to work successfully within a team-based system. * Good organizational skills and ability to work with deadlines is a must to be successful in this position. * Believes in sustainability and our vision.
