We’re currently on the lookout for an EOL Diagnostics Engineer who will report to the Engineering Manager. The main focus will be to develop and implement world class assembly processes to build world class electric vehicles including our Class 8 trucks. This will include working in all stages of the vehicle development process; from clay models to fully functional vehicles.  This is a high focus and demanding position that will require an individual that can work to represent the production operator as the vehicle is designed.  Must have good visual knowledge of how things go together.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the design of a world-class engineering effort to bring electric vehicles to a new level of refinement
  • Work with the Advanced Manufacturing team for diagnostic implementation
  • Identify, develop, and maintain solutions to complex technical problems in electronic and mechatronic vehicle systems and subsystems
  • Work with cross-functional teams to derive requirements given by use cases and feature listings, FMEA results, reliability and DV/PV needs and drive implementation
  • Work with the Functional Safety team to define and architect functions that meet requirements derived from the Safety process according to ISO26262
  • Work with the Service organization to define part exchange strategies in case of a fault
  • Utilize diagnostic services on Ethernet, CAN and LIN for fault reporting, diagnostic data communication and diagnostic routines.
  • Support Diagnostic System Engineers in authoring diagnostic data using CANdela Studio
  • Develop functional and software diagnostic requirements for model based and hand code software implementation
  • Assist in developing test cases to verify and validate diagnostic functions on ECU integration and system integration level.
  • Verify and update software configurations on ECUs
  • Activate and test critical components and functions
  • Deploy new software updates at EOL
  • Perform vehicle function checks and support/train respective teams
  • Support run trials and update vehicle software
  • Support review and update training documents and work instructions

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering – Industrial, Systems, or Electrical
  • 6 + Years of experience in System Testing, Validation and Integration of Software/Hardware/ECU Components
  • At Least 3 Years in Automotive validation / Automotive manufacturing
  • Experience working with Automotive ECU Components
  • Understand automotive protocols - CAN/CAN FD/LIN/Ethernet
  • Knowledge on networking technologies - Ethernet/WIFI/Bluetooth/BLE
  • Experience in Hardware/Software diagnostics (i.e. UDS)
  • Experience in developing, executing scripts in automotive environment
  • Experience in using PEAK, VECTOR diagnostic tools
  • Experience on automotive EOL configurations preferred
  • Knowledge on OTA and Firmware updates
  • Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Hands on experience on diagnosing issues, reproducing issues and follow up
  • Functional Testing, System testing and Test Automation experience preferred
  • Knowledge in shell scripting, Python or other scripting tools is a plus
  • Self-motivated individual, enthusiastic to learn and improvise, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
