We are on the lookout for an experienced Engineering Manager, EE Systems Test Automation to join the Electrical/Electronic (E/E) Systems team. 

You Will:

  • Manage a suite of automated functional regression tests on the electrical bench
  • Develop electrical profiles for components
  • Manage electrical components being delivered and installed on the electrical integration bench
  • Analyze functional requirements of the vehicle's electrical system and develop validation plans against those specifications
  • Perform tests in the lab on various systems to ensure proper design of fusing, harness connections, pinout, communication interface, and other engineering designs
  • Track issues found in testing to Nikola’s Electrical and Controls department
  • Manage the timeline and testing activities for each of the benches in the lab
  • Work with the Nikola safety group to create a safe working environment for Nikola employees within the lab
  • Act as expert in automotive electrical test environments including high voltage testing

 Experience You Bring:

  • Familiar with Python, CAPL, and/or other scripting languages
  • Reading logical and physical schematics to understand how a particular function is implemented
  • Low and high voltage architecture in automotive vehicles
  • CAN, LIN, and other common automotive networks
  • Soldering through hole and surface mount devices
  • Using standard lab test equipment like oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, etc.
  • Automotive connectors and how they are assembled
  • Automotive controllers, sensors, and actuators
  • Measuring electrical characteristics such as resistance, capacitance, inductance, voltage, and current.
  • Common systems in electric or fuel cell vehicles like electronic power steering, suspension, safety, powertrain, etc.
  • Vector tools like CANalyzer, CANape, and CANoe.

 You Have:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering field
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing system level testing
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive electrical systems

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
