We’re currently on the lookout for an Equipment Engineer who will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The main focus will be to develop and implement world class assembly processes to build world class electric vehicles including our Class 8 trucks. This will include working in all stages of the vehicle development process; from clay models to fully functional vehicles.  This is a high focus and demanding position that will require an individual that can work to represent the production operator as the vehicle is designed.  Must have good visual knowledge of how things go together.

You will:

  • Develop the strategic direction for advanced engineering on various lines
  • Design and implement production equipment program
  • Design of manufacturing equipment and fixtures
  • Specification development of manufacturing equipment
  • Validation and characterization of new equipment and fixtures for introduction to the production floor
  • Measure equipment reliability and lead troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving machinery
  • Work with Suppliers, Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime
  • Flexible to support travel for product development reviews (minimum 20%)

You’ll need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent educational background
  • Minimum (4) four years’ experience in automotive manufacturing or other high volume, complex product lines
  • Automotive experience with HD trucks (class 6-8) or battery electric vehicles (BEV) preferred
  • Must have advanced understanding of equipment related safety standards

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada.  This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
