The Fuel Cell System Design Release Engineer will be a self-starter willing to push the envelope of innovation, system performance and cost reduction in order to meet the company targets. You will be a team player who considers how their work impacts others and treats the company and its resources as their own.

You will:
  • Manage technical design and development activities
  • Work on several aspects of component and system level testing, including instrumentation, test fixtures and setup, procedures, and reporting. Testing may involve DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) development and testing of multiple programs, fuel cell systems, powertrain bench and dyno testing, chassis dyno, durability testing, thermal performance, EMC, NVH, track and road testing
  • Support development of the fuel cell system DVP
  • Assist with various components and assemblies in CAD tools
  • Lead future planning for fuel cell vehicle related power electronic components
  • Assist with other fuel cell vehicle High Voltage component engineer activities
  • Collaborate with program management, manufacturing, design & development teams, purchasing, and partners to ensure on time sign-offs at program milestones and engineering gateways
  • Support efficient issue/risk identification, communication, tracking, and resolution
  • Company subject matter expert for fuel cell power electronic systems and integration
You Have:
  • Years of relevant experience 5+
  • B.S. in EE, EET, ME, MET, Automotive Engineering, or related degree, plus 5+ years of industry experience working with electro-mechanical systems, or
  • M.S. in EE, EET, ME, MET, Automotive Engineering, with a specialty working on electric powertrain systems or components, plus 3+ years of industry experience working with electro-mechanical systems, or
  • Ph.D. in EE, EET, ME, MET, Automotive Engineering, with a specialty working on electric powertrain systems or components
  • Strong foundation of high voltage component function, design, development (motor, inverter, DC/DC, and battery systems), emerging trends, and overall system interaction
  • The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group setting
  • The ability to work independently
  • Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems involving networked microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
  • Experience safely working with high voltage
  • Comfortable analyzing data, as well as developing analytical tools to command functions, to monitor responses, to parse data from log files, or to aid in data review
  • Creative capacity for developing new ways to integrate complex system better and faster in alignment with the aggressive industry approach to revolutionary product development
  • Must be highly motivated and able to manage multiple assignments concurrently with limited supervision, while driving day-to-day operations
  • Experience in requirements management
  • Experience with functional safety and HARA
  • Solid understanding of system/component design/development processes
  • Solid communication and time management skills
