We’re currently on the lookout for a Hardware in the Loop (HIL) Engineer to assist the development and integration of electric vehicle performance models to validate ECU control requirements as part of the HIL (Hardware in the loop) Validation Team. The position is responsible for integrating models, setting up test stands and executing and designing validation tests. You will work closely with the controller module owner to gain approval for test plans and test coverage during solution development. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You will:

  • Integrate System models with HIL (Hardware in the Loop) real-time benches to run over Speedgoat real-time environment to support ECU Controls validation.
  • Based on high-level testing requirements, write detailed test specifications, and develop HIL verification & validation tests for newly developed control systems.
  • Manage and organize high-level test requirements.
  • Manage and organize detailed test specifications.
  • Analyze test results and measurements, and report to the control system developers.
  • Contribute to improve model fidelity and accuracy using the learnings from bench testing.

You Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred MS Degree).
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive, Truck & off-Highway, Agricultural Equipment, Heavy Equipment, or Aerospace industries.
  • Strong background in control electronics, sensors, and/or actuators
  • Familiarity with model-based System Design in MATLAB/Simulink environment
  • Familiarity with Simulink Test Harness and State Flow
  • Familiarity with FPGA configuration and programming
  • Familiarity with automotive hardware and firmware manufacturing test development
  • Knowledge of digital, analog I/O management
  • Familiarity with wiring harness/design
  • Familiarity with Real Time systems.
  • Willingness to grow and be challenged.
  • Proficiency in the following tools:
    • Model-based development: MATLAB, Simulink
    • Programming: C/C++, Python
    • Communication Networks: CAN, LIN
  • Cross functional communication including oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle systems and architecture.
Preferred Experience:
  • Electrified powertrain systems modeling experience.
  • Experience with FPGA programing and configuration.
  • Experience in development & testing of embedded control systems.
  • Experience in HIL simulations systems, dSpace, speedgoat, VeriStand
  • Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape
  • Familiarity with Automated Test Development
  • Familiarity with requirement management and version-controlled tools (GIT, JIRA, JAMA etc)


Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
