Complement our hydrogen storage team by: scouting new technologies, evaluate and prioritize industry developments from the perspective of technology readiness level, manufacturability, qualification/approvals, and cost in a rapidly evolving field. 10+ years of experience in the assessment and/or development of hydrogen storage and related fuel cell electric vehicle technologies. PhD in engineering or applied science.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Technology scout for new hydrogen storage technologies including but not limited to gaseous (conformable), liquid, cryo-compressed, and solid state. Develop non-disclosure agreements and negotiate terms as needed
  • Evaluate pros and cons for hydrogen storage technologies from the perspective of: safety considerations, technology readiness level, packaging efficiency, manufacturability, cost, infrastructure compatibility, and usable energy (on / off-board implications), etc.
  • Develop hydrogen storage technology roadmap to identify gaps from the perspective of fueling infrastructure, standards & regulations, and provide options to accelerate deployment in the next 5 to 7 years
  • Objectively lead techno-economic analysis of novel hydrogen storage technologies
  • Communicate and coordinate results with the hydrogen storage and fuel cell teams
  • Document and maintain company documents, including analysis approach, assumptions, results, external & internal presentations
  • Support efficient issue/risk identification, communication, tracking, and resolution
  • Maintain professional relationships and leverage networks through frequent and open effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES:
  • PhD in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Applied Science or similar
  • 10+ years’ experience in the assessment and/or development of hydrogen storage and related fuel cell electric vehicle technologies
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills, ability to identify and develop new ideas and initiatives, able to turn ideas into practical working systems and procedures; creative, hands-on mentality
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work with deadlines is a must to be successful in this position
  • Possess good decision-making abilities with sound leadership qualities yet open, respectful and convincing
  • Believes in sustainability and our vision to accelerate transportation decarbonization
  • Experience working with alternative fuels including compressed natural gas and compressed hydrogen a plus
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
