Nikola is seeking a Lead Resident Engineer. In this position, your will lead the planning, execution, report, and communication of Nikola’s vehicle tests. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experiences in vehicle testing, developing test procedures, and test plans for systems and vehicle levels, coordinating and executing the tests with testing facilities.  The Lead will ensure the data are properly analyzed and test reports are prepared and provide feedback to the Safety Office and Engineering Departments. 

You Will:

 Overall, you are responsible for the efficient operation of all Nikola Corp testing at the Proving Ground facility

  1. You will be the single point of contact on-site with the proving ground for all daily operations
  2. Schedule all tests for Nikola Corp at proving ground facility.
  3. Ensure compliance of all proving ground rules and regulations.
  4. Optimize test schedules for multiple test requests and needs.
  5. Work with cross functional teams to ensure there is an efficient test plan for upcoming tests and is communicated to proving ground program managers.
  6. Work with cross functional teams to make sure work orders for testing purposes are planned and efficiently communicated to the proving ground facility manager to ensure there is minimum downtime in test activities.
  7. Work with Nikola purchasing team to ensure timely invoicing and PO’s to maintain positive rapport between Nikola and proving ground facility.

 You Bring:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  2. Capable of dealing with multiple tasks, able to prioritize resources.
  3. Passion for automotive and EV’s and willing to learn
  4. Familiar with the use of Excel and basic office software.

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada.  This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
