What you’ll create:

The proportions, shape, placement, and surfaces for the instrument panel, seats, door trim panels, headliner, pillar trims, etc.

Understand the full Design process from research and planning to concept design and feasibility development to create the next generation of Nikola interiors.

Work with engineering on execution and feasibility

Develop appropriate presentations for senior management reviews

Storyboards for project narratives & co-create physical models for design evaluation

Collaborate with the Design Manager and Design Director to ensure that all deliverables are on target

You ensure that the work is completed on time with a high level of quality

Taking 100% ownership & initiative to keep the development on track and ownership of your creations

What you “must” already bring to the table:

  • BS/BA/MFA or equivalent in Industrial Design with an Automotive-Design, Transportation or Product Design focus.
  • 4+ years of transportation design experience & product design (experience designing both interiors and exteriors a plus) in an automotive environment.
  • Deep understanding of strategic creative vision.
  • Led creative, future vehicle design processes.
  • Proficient in Sketching and Photoshop.
Additional Profile Characteristic Preferred:
  • Ability to create emotionally evoking designs.
  • High level of teamwork and communication skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Independent and structured work ethic

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. 

This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
