Nikola Motor Company is seeking a Manager, Accounts Payable Operations to be a key player in the cross-functional organization, responsible for establishing best-in-class procure-to-pay processes and procedures and building out a team to support our growing operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on and versatile professional who will drive the business results through the accurate and timely accounts payable function.  

You Will:

  • Develop a high functioning efficient and responsive accounts payable team to meet the business demands
  • Proactively partner with supply chain and operations to improve system, processes and controls, and resolve payment issues
  • Communicate with external vendors and internal customers to resolve issues and facilitate a positive working relationship
  • Ensure all vendor statements are reconciled timely
  • Develop and implement streamlined processes designed to optimize the balance between the need for agility and solid financial controls
  • Hire, onboard, and develop strong accounts payable staff. Foster strong work ethics and team morale
  • Understand financial dimension’s structure to accurately code expenses. Partner with corporate accounting team to develop coding guidelines as the business needs evolve
  • Support month-end close by performing reconciliations and preparing journal entries as assigned
  • Lead automation and other system enhancement initiatives including paperless invoicing and approval, reporting and KPIs
  • Act as the process and system expert for the entire procure-to-pay cycle

You Have:

  • At least 10 years full cycle AP and/or GL experience, including managerial experience in manufacturing environment
  • A broad knowledge of the procure to pay process including best practices
  • Experience developing and implementing processes, strong project management skills
  • Ability to identify process improvements and lead process changes. Prior system implementation experience is a strong plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the company and externally, coupled with a client-service attitude
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and passion to maintain immaculate records
  • Must enjoy problem solving, streamlining work, identifying areas for improvement and following through to drive related changes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Paymode preferred

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
