We are on the lookout for a Seating Engineer to join our Cab engineering team. As a seating engineer, you will be part of a team delivering a world-class occupant experience, that will meet global regulatory and consumer requirements, while being cost and mass efficient. The is an end to end role where you will start from a blank sheet of paper and end up supporting launch efforts. The role will entail interfacing with cross-functional teams and suppliers on a daily basis.

You Will:

  • Propose and develop seating solution concepts to support design/vehicle theme
  • Understand the implications of meeting global regulatory requirements
  • Understand the seat manufacturing process, visits to the supplier facilities supporting Supplier quality. Optimization of materials and processes for cost reduction
  • Work with specialized seating suppliers to mature solution concepts into a manufacturable solution that delivers a world-class seating system for safety and quality
  • The candidate will also be responsible for releasing component performance specifications, drawings, and system validation
  • Develop the BOM, Understand costs, timing, and program deliverables
  • The Engineer will define functional requirements, and develop system DVPR, DFMEA, and function models
  • Interface with and support mating commodities where necessary to aid in the delivery of world-leading vehicle systems
  • Mentor interns as necessary to support the continued growth of the company

You Have:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or in a related engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive seating design
  • Proficient in Catia V5/V6
  • Previous exposure to automotive legal specifications

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada.  This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
