Senior Yocto (Linux) and Integration Engineer

Description

This role is based at our Phoenix, AZ HQ, and would require relocation to the Phoenix area.

We are looking for a candidate who can debug and build Yocto Linux images. This includes running our integration labs and integration efforts. The person filling this role will need great debugging and communication skills. Integration work will often require interacting with developers across teams to solve system-wide problems.

You will be working on Battery Electric and Fuel Cell semi-trucks. This role in particular is for the infotainment system. You will develop and debug software on the NXP IMX8 platform which consists of multiple A-Cores running Yocto Linux and M-Cores running real-time and safety-related operating systems.

Here are some of the core skills needed for this role:

  • Linux Expertise (7+ years’ of experience) - Understands Linux at the kernel level. You solve the tricky Linux problems others struggle with.
  • Yocto (5+ years’ of experience) - Yocto build experience on ARM systems like the Toradex Apalis SOM (BitBake recipes)
  • Board Support Packages (5+ years’ experience) - Experience working with Board Support Packages and hardware bring-up (Audio CODECs, Displays, Network Switches, SPI, I2C, etc)
  • Development (7+ years’ experience): Scripting and C/C++ development (bonus if you have Ruby/Crystal experience)
  • Debugging: Great analytical debugging skills
  • Interaction: Collaboration and communication skills
  • Networking: Expert in networking and securing operating systems.
  • Security: Knows how to secure operating systems/platforms.
  • Devices: Good understanding of a variety of devices and protocols (serial, CAN, SPI, I2C, Bluetooth, etc)
  • Performance: Good at finding performance bottlenecks and solving them

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. 

This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
