We’re currently on the lookout for a Technical Author who will perform a critical role in documenting the vehicle validation processes and procedures co-developed by the vehicle validation team for the Nikola Motor’s Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle. As the technical author, you will have an immediate impact on the vehicle Verification and Validation at Nikola Motor and support the development of world-class, industry-leading vehicles.

You Will:

  • Develop and mature process and procedure documents
  • Work with the V&V team of technicians and engineers to document lessons learned throughout the program
  • Provide guidance on the organization of, and the management of Nikola’s procedural documents
  • Support engineering staff in the generation of technical test report documents
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and template development
  • Be key in bridging any gaps between working teams by documenting test completion and results

You Have:

  • BS Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years authoring clear and concise technical documents
  • Strong technical writing skills are a must
  • Familiarity with full MSOffice suite
  • Able to effectively communicate and work cross-functionally across all technical teams and disciplines
  • Highly experienced in creating test procedures and procedural documents, including images and technical diagrams
  • The ability to navigate through underdefined needs
  • Flexibility in tasks, and the desire to learn
  • A familiarity in automotive or commercial vehicle platforms
  • A strong understanding of critical detail process and procedures
  • Must have an active driver’s license with a clean driving history
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with commercial vehicle platforms
  • Technical document revision tracking and maintenance experience
  • Experience with JIRA, JAMA, a plus

Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada.  This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
