FAQ

Are fleet incentives in Texas available year-round to all fleets statewide?

Not always. Some programs are restricted to specific counties, with eligibility criteria varying by program. Nikola can help by providing a one-page incentive summary indicating statewide availability or county-specific restrictions, complete with links to maps and detailed information.

Does Texas offer a voucher incentive program similar to California HVIP that does not require replacing an operational diesel truck?

Texas does not have a voucher incentive program like California’s HVIP. However, some Texas grant programs offer funding for new heavy-duty zero-emissions vehicles without requiring the scrappage of an operational diesel truck. Availability may be limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

How much funding can I receive for a new heavy-duty zero-emissions vehicle in Texas?

Funding amounts vary based on multiple factors, including program specifics and local restrictions. Generally, more funding is available for upgrading local older diesel trucks to zero-emissions vehicles compared to adding new fleet purchases. For detailed information, contact Nikola Sales or email [email protected].

Can I stack funding from multiple Texas grant programs for the same project?

Current Texas grant programs do not permit stacking of funds. However, this policy may change in the future.

*For example, California’s HVIP recently started allowing incentive stacking for small fleets.
